Dr. Jena is an experienced and passionate osteopath born and raised in Melbourne. She may be a small practitioner but don’t be fooled by her size!! Since graduating from RMIT University in 2013, she has worked in several clinics around Melbourne, allowing her to gain much experience in treating people of all shapes, ages, professions and backgrounds.

Jena strives to listen, understand and be honest with her patients. Because every ‘body’ is different, there is no ‘one-size fits all’ approach with Jena; every consult is completely bespoke. Her objective is to motivate and educate her patients in co- and self-managing their pain according to their lifestyle, beliefs and interests. Her goals as an osteopath are to:

  • Make you feel reassured and confident in tackling your injury.
  • Educate you on how and why you are in pain.
  • Devise an appropriate plan of attack for long-term results.
  • Do all of the above collaboratively with you in a positive and friendly environment!

Jena has a strong interest and background in exercise prescription and is also a Clinical Pilates instructor (Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute, APPI). As part of your treatment plan, she will usually get you moving on your own and performing carefully selected exercises as an adjunct to hands-on therapy to help you feel and move better.

When she is not working, Jena is an amateur dancer, weight lifter and musical theatre goer. She is a huge dog lover (and is obsessed with Pugs!) and can often be found stalking the streets for doggy pats.

Want to feel positive and confident in managing your pain or injury? Book in to see Dr. Jena at the clinic on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Karen joined the team at Box Hill Osteopathy in April 2017. Prior to joining the team she had been working at a clinic in Seddon. Being healthy has always been a priority to Karen so working in a team that focuses on health and well being is the perfect fit. Having worked in lots of roles in customer service and management means that she keeps the team running smoothly.

Baking and exercise are her passions which go hand in hand as she likes cake!

Debbie Baharian (formerly Debbie Wong)

CLINIC DIRECTOR

Debbie is fascinated by the human body and its innate ability to heal itself. She worked as an osteopath for 14 years, and now spends her time between running the clinic and continuing to serve others through another modality.

Being an exercise junkie, and keen to try anything new, Debbie was always fascinated by the possibilities of the human body, which inspired her to become an osteopath. In her 14 years of working as an osteopath, she has seen people from many walks of life and strongly encourages everyone from children to the elderly to maintain an active lifestyle, and believes in the benefits of good nutrition from wholefoods and keeping hydrated. Her top piece of advice is: don’t believe everything you have been told or that you read. Do your own research and come up with your own conclusion. One of her passions is learning about health and nutrition, especially natural healing methods, so ask for a remedy for any ailment, and she will be sure to know one!

In her spare time, you will find Debbie at a personal development retreat, researching the latest on health and nutrition, running around after her 2 boys and chihuahua, doing weights and cardio at the gym, doing yoga and meditation, or spending time out and about with her family and friends.

To get in touch with Debbie, please call 03 9898 4391.
